Godwin's Law
Bored. Stuck in reading for half an hour with nothing to do. Phone is barely alive. Somehow managed to get it to breath again. Dunno how though. Battery must be almost dead. It died last Saturday. I have to look into the effect that gives batteries more power from doing nothing. Perhaps its mearly deviations from the battery itself. I miss Chloe already. I dunno what to do, I've been very depressed over the last month. I really love uni but its depressing at the same time. Am I destined to be a failure? I hope not. Wish I had some get rich quick scheme. Writing looks like a nice way to make monies but I dunno if I could keep it up. Should look into it when I get home. I have plenty of idea's just no way to get them on paper. I have a messed head. Wow, I'm writing and time is flying, I must be enjoying this stuff of something. Also my phone has died finally. The screen keeps whiting out. Gah now the battery is yelling at me about being low so I probably have to go. Ta ta virtual live! I'm afraid Hal.... Afraid to go. Lol oh god, I'm making terrible quotes from 2001. Bad signs. Well, on the train now. Met a drunk person, he was alright. Bit of a nutter though. I wonder how long my battery will last. I didn't think it would last more than 30 seconds but its still going, been 30 minutes now. I keep saving every other sentence just in case. I really like what i'9 writing here for some reason. Need to learn to use grammar correctly, as well as correct punctuation. Meh, getting a battery warning every time I save now. I give it 5 minutes max. I haven't tried turning the phone on so I might try that in a sec. See if I Can kill it. But if I do my entertainment dies with it :( I guess without video games I fall back to writing. Maybe I have a hidden talent! Like a super power! I could be super illiterate guy! Spending day and night fighting grammar Nazi's!

Hide and Seek!
today i played hide and seek!
yeah i know it sounds childish but it was really fun!
hide and and seek, plus tag in the woods is awesome! most people were dressed in camo(apart from me, who dressed in bright red ¬_¬) so most of the time it was almost impossible to see them. the whole thing lasted about three hours playing different variations of tag and hide and seek. probably the most fun you can have sober(hide and seek while drunk however, would probably be even more awsome, at least untill someone goes missing).

okay, so now i've finally figured out how to get youtube to work with Deepest sender. silly me was pasting the embedding code in the wrong place. i'll try not to post to much youtube crap but it might/will happen.

STILL ALIVE
just...
okay, fine, I've neglected my blog for a while but that doesn't mean its dead!
my life has been to busy to blog recently and nothing has really stood out enough for me to share.
but, now i have a load of stuff to share :D
First off I'm now going to have comments on photo's with a mouse over. So if you want to find out about a photo just move your mouse over the photo.
Easter
i went back home to Cornwall for Easter. it was very very hectic!
I spent the first week with Chloe doing nothing but sleeping, eating, watching movies and playing video games. that is when i realise my life was at the highest point it can get to. *sladey hearts videogam---Chloe*
The Second week down i again spent it with Chloe but also with a friend from university.
this is when everything went mad.
I Went to pick up my friend Sachiko at Bodmin and then went to Chloe's house to pick her up. We then went to padstow to show Sachiko a small cornish touristy place thing.
that was cool. i had fish and chips and chloe had a pasty. After that we departed for my house. took about an hour to get home from there.
That was when everything went down hill.
We watched a movie in the evening and i started to get a sore throat.
after the movie we all went to bed. In the morning I felt like death on legs.
I dosed myself upto the eyeballs for the next few days while going around cornwall. We had a trip to the meadery with sachiko, marc, darryl, jess and james which was good fun.
The next day we walked around the local towns and had ice cream!.
On the morning i had to take Sachiko Home i felt a liitle better. we took turns wearing my sun glasses and i think you will agree this is the most bad ass looking mother fucking around
that about covers everything that happened over easter really. well, not really but i don't have pictures for the rest of it. after sachiko went home i talked to jess about viva pinata (don't complain about the lack of accent, i can't be arsed) for the rest of the day.

Google XPRIZE

Sounds Intresting even if nothing comes of it. I heard about this before but this is the first progress I've read on the challange. It's not really much, other that the first team has finished registering. better than nothing though. While I hope this reduces the cost of space travel I can't see myself being able to afford a trip into space in my lifetime.
"Future generations will view the Google Lunar X PRIZE as the turning point of the 21st century, when humanity realized the Moon's critical role for prosperity and survival in space and on Earth."
It may happen in the 21st century but i doubt that the changes that this challenge will bring about will happen before the 22nd century.

EVE!
As you may or may not know I Play Eve-Online.
Eve is an online game where players interact in a space environment. Anyone who has ever played elite should be very much at home with this game.
Today CCP the creators of the game released a patch to update the out of date graphics. Not much to say about it really. It looks awesome, everything is smoother and it uses DX10 for the lucky 50 people who have DX10 graphics cards (more on DX10 here)
This is pretty much the closest thing to video game porn besides crysis(more DX10 stuff).
I'll post some screenshots later to show the difference but believe me when i say its impressive.

Computer shop
This evening/Morning I was talking to my good friend Darryl about the idea of setting up a computer shop. In between him writing his film essay we juggled with the idea of setting up a shop together. the idea is becoming increasingly tempting. I would be lying if I didn't say I thought about leaving university to start one.
Suddenly I seem to have found a purpose with my life and I think this is what I genuinely want to do. of course I would like to have a degree but I would love to have my own computer shop. One thing I haven't mentioned yet is that I worked as a computer engineer for about one and a half years. It was the most fun I think I've even had working. Yes you get complete idiots coming in with problems they could have solved if they read the manual but you also get people who know nothing about computers and have tried to solve the problem with no luck. those are the people that I find rewarding to help. They are the people that thank you for the work and don't complain that's its not their fault they didn't know how to get capital letters(true story).

Computer "support"
Fickle things laptops. Sometimes they can be really easy to take apart and other times they can be completely.....unfriendly. This evening i had the unfortunate luck of coming across one of these unfriendly chaps.
the problem was simple. Laptop continuously shutdown due to over heating.
Now, this is a common problem with laptops as the air that is pulled into the laptop tends to go though thin gaps between the heat sink fins. The dust that goes though these fins gets stuck and bungs the entire thing up. Now normally this is just a simple task of popping the keyboard and removing the heat sink and giving it a good dusting. However in this case the bastard refused to allow me to remove the keyboard until I removed almost every screw from the laptop! Finally after 1/2 an hour of fighting with the 'thing' I managed to pop the keyboard and remove the heat sink revealing about an inch of dust icing. Out comes the hover and I proceed to dust and clean. It was at this point the "customer" decided to press her fingers onto the exposed processor and mistaking the HTC(heat transfer compound) as dust, pushing most of the the HTC off the processor and end up with a large amount of HTC on their fingers. Now without an even amount of HTC the heat cannot efficiently transfer from the processor to the heat sink. I unfortunately do not have any HTC on my so i reassenbled the laptop praying that the bloody thing worked. 20 seconds into starting the machine it hangs.
Restart.
Hangs again.
Restart again.
Hangs again.
Moral of the story: If you think a customer is going to poke what your working on, make sure you poke out their eyes first.

What are these shenanigans
OK, now to quickly sum up the article.
Guy goes missing in canoe accident.
Wife claims life insurance.
Guy has been spotted living with his wife for the last 5 years.
Guy "reappears" 5 years later.
Guy claims he knows nothing about it and is suffering from amnesia.
An interesting story if nothing else.
personally I think if any of it is true he has spent the last 5 years in immense pain. Thus all of this can be explained because his brain suppressed the memory.
Now, if I don't pretend to have any common sense, I can quite happily say the whole thing stinks of tom foolery.
Edit: The wife came clean and told the police that the whole thing was a setup to get out of thousands of pounds of debt.

About me!
Well I know I said I would post this as soon as I woke up but I had some other quick stuff to do first. Well, what to write about me. I'm 20 years old, as of time of writing and a student at Oxford Brookes university studying computer science. i enjoy fixing and tinkering with computers. Videogames are also a pastime I enjoy. I'm a competent juggler though not as good as a should be due to my recent illness (being lazy). I'm also engaged to my Wonderful Chloe Dockerty. She can be not so lovely sometimes (read: most of the time) but I still love her lots. I also have a ':p' smilie fetish and use it until its raw. I'm also extremely silly most of the time. Life really is far to serious. Travelling is something that i have recently discovered to enjoy and i'll post a map later with places i have been too marked on it.
I really don't know what my future is going to hold but probably something in computers. I sometimes get idea's of opening my own little computer shop but i don't know if i'm dedicated enough for that.
well. that pretty much sums me up.
